The Hotel3Querce is the starting point for exploring the art and landscape wonders of the Marche. Here some Places not to be missed:
Nature and Parks: green mountain in a blue sea: a natural oasis that preserves environments and landscapes to be discovered. White rocks plunging down to the blue sea and green hills with vineyards and lavender. The Conero Park is a unique natural environment in the middle Adriatic Following its paths, on foot, on a bike or on horseback, alone or with the Park’s expert guides, you will discover unforgettable sights Monte Conero, towering 572 metres over the sea, creates a coastline of cliffs about 30 km long which protects the immediate hinterland from the cold and damp winds that blow from the sea. Rare botanical species grow in this Nature Park, such as the arborescent euphorbia, the gillyflower, and the perfumed sea fennel. On the Mountain grow Aleppo pines, Deodar cedars and Arizona cypress, ilex, pubescent and arbutus.
Sirolo: standing high above the sea, a balcony looking down on the Adriatic, proud of its beaches, its bays, its rocks and coves, lies right at the heart of the Conero Park. The old town centre, scrupulously restored, seems to relive the atmosphere of bygone times. The little piazza, an elegant fashionable location, is the meeting point for taking the aperitif in the evening with a panoramic view of the sea, before savouring the tasty dishes produced by Sirolo’s chefs or attending an accurate performance at the Teatro Cortesi.
Numana: To the South, Numana Bassa and Marcelli, with large and equipped beaches are lively modern bathing resorts. This is where most of the tourist facilities are to be found. But Numana also has a rich countryside of vineyards and fields of wheat and maize. The town lies in the southern part of the Conero. The centre of this old fishing village is perched on a hilltop with a sheer drop down to the bays of Numana Alta.
Ancona: A town with thousand of years of history. Crossroad of different peoples and cultures. There are splendid reminders of its old language. Ancona is situated at the centre of the Adriatic Coast and, thanks to its peculiar “elbow” shape jutting out onto the sea, it is the only town on the entire coast to see the sun rise and set over the sea. The name of the town originates from the Greek word "Ankon", which in fact means "elbow".These days, Ancona is an important centre of the secondary and tertiary sector, and is also home to the most important fishing port on the Adriatic and to the maritime fishing Research Institute. But it is also cultural and artistic centre as well as a university town, as demonstrated by the collection of paintings preserved in the Municipal Pinacoteca art gallery and the Villarei ex military barracks, refurnished and transformed into one of the most prestigious faculties of Economics and Business in Italy. |
